Global powers must resolve Kashmir dispute if they truly want peace: Chaudhry Shujaat
Islamabad: Former Prime Minister of Pakistan and senior Pakistan Muslim League (Q) leader Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has said that US President Donald Trump’s interest in the ceasefire process is encouraging and expressed hope that he will also show practical involvement in finding a lasting solution to the Kashmir dispute.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, in a statement, said that if global powers are genuinely committed to peace, then they cannot ignore the decades-old Kashmir dispute. He stressed that the United States must prioritize the Kashmir issue in its foreign policy, as its resolution is essential for establishing durable peace in South Asia.
He added that while the world is focusing on resolving conflicts like those in Ukraine and between Israel and Palestine, it must not overlook the equally significant issue of Kashmir.
Chaudhry Shujaat urged global powers to rise above political expediencies and adopt a justice-based approach to peace and stability in the region.
