Indian media has become state propaganda tool: Indian journalist admits
New Delhi,: An Indian journalist has admitted that the claim of Pakistani aircraft being shot down during recent Indo-Pak tensions was false, and that the Indian government cracked down on those who tried to reveal the truth.
According to Kashmir Media Service, senior Indian journalist Rajdeep Sardesai acknowledged that the report concerning Pakistan was fabricated, and that the government targeted individuals and journalists who sought to bring the facts to light in order to cover up its own failures.
The revelation came in a report by a US-based newspaper, which exposed how Indian media aired footage from explosions in Gaza and falsely portrayed them as attacks on Pakistan.
According to the American report, Indian media turned into a state propaganda machine during the period, broadcasting unverified and evidence-free stories. The report further stated that the Indian government, using legal tools, blocked over 8,000 social media accounts within India—most of them belonging to Pakistani users.
