Modi venting frustration over defeat by targeting innocent Kashmiris: Mushaal

Islamabad: Mushaal Hussein Mullick, wife of jailed Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik, has strongly condemned the Indian government’s ongoing crackdown in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), saying the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, is unleashing fresh waves of oppression to cover the shame of his recent political defeat.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Mushaal Hussein Mullick in a video statement said Modi, frustrated and panicked after the setback, is taking out his anger on unarmed and defenseless Kashmiris. “Thousands of Kashmiris have been imprisoned, and efforts are being made to extract forced confessions from them,” she said, adding that the Modi regime is targeting every segment of Kashmiri society.

“Businesses are being destroyed, students are being expelled from Indian universities, and their degrees are being revoked. Voices of dissent on social media are being silenced systematically,” she lamented.

Mushaal said the BJP-led government’s only objective is to depopulate Kashmir of its native inhabitants and settle a new Hindu population in their place, describing the move as a continuation of demographic engineering.

“Instead of introspection after the defeat, Modi has intensified atrocities in Kashmir. It’s high time the world recognized these tactics for what they are—collective punishment of an entire population,” she stressed.
