Residential houses gutted in Srinagar fire incident

Srinagar: Four residential houses were gutted in a devastating fire that broke out in Srinagar district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the incident occurred in the Bazar area of the district when a fire erupted in one house and quickly spread to adjoining structures in the densely populated locality.

Officials stated that four fully involved three-storey residential houses were damaged in the incident. “Fortunately, no injuries or casualties have been reported,” an official said.

Firefighting operations were still underway when the last reports came in.

However, local residents expressed dissatisfaction with the fire department’s response time. “Despite repeated calls, the initial response from the fire service was delayed, allowing the flames to engulf more homes within a short span,” said a local resident.
