Pakistan Army crushed Indian arrogance: AJK President
Mirpur: President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, has said that the recent clash between Pakistan and India was a battle of truth against falsehood, in which the Pakistan Army not only defeated an enemy ten times larger in numbers but also shattered its war frenzy and arrogance.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Barrister Sultan made these remarks while addressing a function hosted by former President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chaudhry Javed Iqbal, in Mirpur today. Barrister Sultan said, “We bow our heads in gratitude to Allah Almighty for granting the Pakistani Armed Forces a remarkable victory in Operation Bunyān al-Marsūs.”
“We owe this victory to our great martyrs who shed their blood to protect the territorial sovereignty of the homeland,” he remarked.
He noted that the Pakistan Air Force’s decisive response to the enemy’s aggression has further cemented the country’s military position and demonstrated its exceptional professional capabilities to the world.
“The glorious victory in Operation Bunyān al-Marsūs stands as a clear testament to the bravery, courage, and professionalism of our armed forces,” the AJK President stated. He added that the entire Kashmiri and Pakistani nation was proud of this historic achievement. “We will observe a week of gratitude in Azad Kashmir to mark this great feat,” he announced.
Welcoming the recent ceasefire between Pakistan and India, he said it presents a unique opportunity for the two nuclear-armed neighbours to resolve their disputes peacefully and ensure lasting peace in South Asia. However, he maintained that sustainable peace in the region is inextricably linked to the resolution of the longstanding Kashmir issue.
Barrister Sultan also emphasized the importance of holding tripartite talks, involving Pakistan, India, and the genuine representatives of the Kashmiri people, to find a lasting solution to the Kashmir dispute. He said that the issue remains the principal cause of tension between the two countries.
Describing former US President Donald Trump’s mediation offer on Kashmir as a positive step, Barrister Chaudhry said that it brought renewed international attention to the dispute. “Given the recent military standoff, an early and peaceful resolution of the Kashmir conflict has become all the more imperative,” he added.
He stressed that the Indian leadership must abandon its jingoistic posture and act as a responsible nuclear state for peace to prevail in the region.
The event was attended by former President of Mirpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chaudhry Javed Iqbal, Chairman District Council Raja Naveed Akhtar Goga, Mayor of Mirpur Chaudhry Usman Khalid, President of Mirpur Chamber Umar Shahzad, and other notable figures.
