Palestine and Kashmir tragedies of immense magnitude could shake the world, warns Muhammad Farooq Rehmani

Islamabad: The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League and senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, has expressed deep concern over the unresolved issues of Palestine and Jammu and Kashmir, stating that both humanitarian tragedies are being exploited and mishandled by global powers to serve their own geopolitical interests.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, in a statement issued to the press, said that despite international acknowledgement of the grave and continuing human tragedies in Palestine and Kashmir—alongside the sub-human treatment of millions of Rohingya Muslims by the Burmese military and extremist Buddhist monks—the world powers continue to act with indifference, manipulating these crises to their own benefit.

He revealed that even now, in May 2025, the Indian government has forced a number of Rohingya refugees into the Bay of Bengal, pushing them adrift near Burmese shores, echoing similar past atrocities committed by Myanmar.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani expressed deep anguish over the deteriorating situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), holding the Modi-led Indian government responsible for escalating military and police brutality in the territory.

He further condemned the ongoing harassment of Kashmiri students in Indian universities and colleges, as well as discriminatory actions against Kashmiri traders. He also highlighted the tragic incidents of deportation and separation of mothers from their toddlers in IIOJK, especially those of Pakistani or AJK origin.

Referring to the tragic situation in Gaza, Rehmani urged the United Nations to intervene immediately to stop Israel’s ground and air offensives, which are designed to expel more than a million Palestinians from their homes and lands. He condemned the Israeli blockade on international aid, warning that it is intensifying the hunger and famine crisis among Gaza’s helpless population.

Rehmani warned that the world cannot afford to remain silent spectators to such grave injustices. If the global community continues to ignore the crises in Palestine and Kashmir, he cautioned, the world may witness unprecedented consequences.
