Tragedies of Palestine & Kashmir could strike world, warns Rehmani
Islamabad: Former Convener of All Parties Hurriyat Conference AJK chapter, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani has expressed great concern over the twin disputes of Palestine and Jammu and Kashmir that are being exploited and mishandled by the world powers in their own interests.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in a statement issued in Srinagar criticized Indian government for forcing a large number of Rohingya refugees cost off into sea near Burma in May 2025.
Referring to the tragic episode of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, he urged the UN to stop the ground offensive and air strikes of the Israeli ground and air forces to force out and expel a million Palestinians from their land and homes to elsewhere outside of the Palestinian region, after having blocked their international aid to intensify the consequences of hunger and famine among the helpless people. He regretted that the Palestinians had been subjected to such unprecedented oppression and catastrophe and carnage due to callousness the Arab rulers, who were unfortunately hand in glove with Israel and, UN which had not fulfilled the promises with them under the UN Charter and numerous resolutions to recognise a sovereign state of Palestine. The UN and the Arab world had actually failed the Palestinian women, children and orphans and widows, who were now under the brutal jackboots of the Zionist army of Israel.
Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, expressed great shock over the turn of events in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, holding India’s Modi government responsible for stepping up her brutal police and military activities against the Kashmiris, such as: target killings of the pro movement leaders & workers in and outside of J&K , especially Pakistan, fresh wave of arrests in the aftermath of Pak-India war and ceasefire, violence and humiliation of the students in the Indian universities & colleges and against the business community and sales men of Kashmiri handicrafts or artifacts, separating and deporting Pak or AJ&K origin mothers from their toddlers in IIOJ&K, implicating youth & students in various so called ULAPA cases, who (if on bail), have to attend every now and then , compulsorily courts far away from their homes. Many seminaries have been closed during the previous years of Delhi’s Hindutva rule and administration on Kashmir, he said, the recently enacted Awqaf amendment Act has further curtailed the religious freedom of the Muslims and their worshipping places are gazed by many eyes and ears of the governor house, while Umar Abdullah’s elected assembly is simply fooling the crushed public-anger, he remarked. ” The kashmiri detainees in different jails of India and Jammu and Kashmir for the last several decades have been suffering from acute diseases and economic losses, but , the so-called courts have failed to address their real problems or deliver justice to the victims, as they are under directions of the agencies, he complained. Bail or parole of any deainee, however, chronic his ailment may be, depends on agencies not on impartial judicial findings. He said that the aim of Modi’s Hindutva government in J&K is never to administer impartially welfare of the people, but, to control opinion and expression of the Muslim majority to mould their fundamental Islamic beliefs in accordance with the BJP’s religious mythology or ideology. Therefore, we as kashmiris have genuine fears that we may loose our majority character and suffer any huge onslaught in the next few decades, in case of continued denial by India to our established fundamental rights or failure to implementing the resolution of the Kashmir dispute by the international community between Pakistan, India and the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Given an iron-fist rule and a long inhuman administrative system of India and violating persistently and constantly the fundamental rights and the relevant resolutions of the United Nations, we urge the world body and its big powers to take cognizance of the unfolding events following the May Pakistan-India war with its enormities and resolve the core issue of Jammu and Kashmir and other problems on the basis of principles and the relevant resolutions and agreements between the parties and the stakeholders without further delay ,and without permitting India to jeopardise the rights of the Kashmiris, particularly their right to freedom and the right of self-determination.
