Deputy CM reaffirms NC’s commitment to restoring special status of IIOJK

Holds BJP accountable for illegal abrogation of Article 370

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary has said that the National Conference-led government is engaged in a political struggle for the restoration of the territory’s special status and statehood.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Surinder Kumar speaking to reporters in Srinagar held the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its allies accountable for the for the current situation in the territory.

“I want to ask BJP allies — what happened in IIOJK during the last 10 years? They are responsible for that,” he said. “Article 370 was illegally abrogated, and Jammu and Kashmir was downgraded to a Union Territory.”

He further emphasized that under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, efforts continue to restore the territory’s constitutional rights and political dignity.

“We are still fighting to restore the special status of IIOJK and to regain the respect and honour of the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” the Deputy CM asserted.
