Indian billionaire Gautam Adani under investigation in US
Washington: The American newspaper has claimed that Indian billionaire businessman Gautam Adani is currently under US investigation.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the Wall Street Journal said the US Department of Justice is investigating the business of Indian businessman Gautam Adani.
Gautam Adani’s companies are being investigated for possible involvement in violating US sanctions on Iran.
Adani, who is the second richest person in Asia and a close financier of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was trying to get the Trump administration to drop foreign bribery charges against him.
But what if these charges were dropped? Now a new front has opened against him and prosecutors are investigating whether his companies are buying petrochemical products from Iran.
According to reports received today, the US Department of Justice has launched an investigation against them for violating US sanctions on Iran. It is reported that their companies were importing LPG from Iran through the Mundra port in Gujarat, India.
A Wall Street Journal investigation has revealed that tankers are traveling between Mandira (Gujarat, a western Indian state) and the Persian Gulf, which is used to evade sanctions.
