Indian BJP govt using judiciary as tool to silence Kashmiris’ political voices: APHC

Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has said that the Indian BJP government is using judiciary as a weapon to silence legitimate political voices of people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir .

According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas in a statement in Srinagar urged the international community to take effective notice of the increasing gross human rights violation.

He said the Indian authorities have intensified state terrorism on the Kashmiris, mainly targeting peace and freedom-loving leaders, activists and civil society members who have been critical of the BJP regime’s muscular policies.

Condemning the dismissal of the bail plea of senior APHC leader Shabbir Ahmad Shah by Delhi High Court on Thursday in a fake case registered by the National Investigation Agency in 2017, he said that Indian courts are being used by the BJP government against Kashmiri people punishing them in fake and fabricated cases. He said that the ruthless suppression of dissent was a serious violation of basic human rights.

The APHC spokesman urged the international community to mount pressure on India and demanded of New Delhi to stop the use of state repression to crush political dissent in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
