Iranian Parliament echoes with chants of gratitude for Pakistan’s support
Tehran:The Iranian Parliament resounded with chants of “Pakistan Tashakur, Tashakur” (Thank you, Pakistan) in response to Islamabad’s strong and unwavering support for Iran following brutal Israeli attacks.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, while addressing the Parliament, appreciated Pakistan’s solidarity during a critical time. His remarks were met with enthusiastic slogans of gratitude by the members of the Iranian Parliament.
Speaker of the Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, strongly condemned the cowardly Israeli attacks on civilians and urged the Iranian nation to remain vigilant and united against the enemy. Members of the Parliament also paid glowing tributes to Iranian military commanders, personnel, and nuclear scientists who were martyred in Israeli aggression.
The wave of solidarity comes after Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian. During the call, PM Sharif condemned Israel’s unprovoked and unjustified aggression, affirming that Pakistan stands in complete solidarity with the brotherly nation of Iran.
Prime Minister Sharif emphasized that the Israeli attack was not only a breach of Iran’s sovereignty and regional integrity but also a gross violation of the United Nations Charter and international law. He asserted that under Article 51 of the UN Charter, Iran holds the inherent right to self-defense.
Pakistan has extended complete support to the government and people of Iran and has also raised the issue at the United Nations Security Council. Speaking at an emergency session of the UNSC, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative, Munir Akram, reaffirmed Iran’s right to defend itself and termed the Israeli aggression a violation of sovereignty and a threat to regional peace and stability.
He further warned that Israel’s continued violations of international norms and state sovereignty pose a serious danger to global peace and must not be allowed to continue unchecked.
