Pakistan principal party to Kashmir dispute: Zafar Qureshi
Islamabad: Chairman of Kashmir Campaign Global UK, Zafar Ahmed Qureshi, has said that Pakistan is not only a principal party to the Kashmir dispute but also a steadfast and unwavering advocate of the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Zafar Qureshi made these remarks during a meeting with newly elected office-bearers and members of the United Kashmir Journalists Association (UKJA).
He praised Pakistan’s consistent efforts to raise the Kashmir issue on international forums in an effective manner. He urged the Kashmiri diaspora to intensify their efforts in projecting the Kashmir freedom movement globally.
Referring to India’s recent humiliating setback in its confrontation with Pakistan, Zafar Qureshi said the Kashmir dispute has once again come under global focus. He emphasized that the Kashmiri leadership must seize this opportunity to garner international support.
He also encouraged Kashmiri journalists to strengthen their engagement with Western media outlets in order to mobilize global opinion in support of the Kashmir cause.
