Students protest over shortage of teachers in Rajouri school

Jammu: Students in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district held a strong protest, blocking a key road for several hours to demand the urgent appointment of additional teachers at theirschool.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the protest occurred in Gabbar village, located in the Kotranka educational zone of Budhal tehsil, where students voiced deep frustration over the chronic shortage of teaching staff.

The school, upgraded from middle to high level in 2007, currently functions with only four teachers and a headmaster for 360 enrolled students, officials confirmed.

Angry students blocked the Gabbar–Budhal Road, shouting slogans and calling for immediate deployment of qualified teachers. “One teacher is forced to handle multiple subjects, which compromises the quality of education,” a protesting student said. “We have held peaceful protests, sit-ins, and even involved parents and the local panchayat, but authorities continue to ignore our pleas.”

The incident underscores the continued neglect of educational infrastructure in remote areas of IIOJK, challenging the Modi regime’s claims of development and progress in the occupied territory.
