Indian police raid civilian home in Sopore, seize devices, harass family

Srinagar: In Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir, police carried out a search operation in Sopore area of Baramulla, targeting the home of a Kashmiri civilian.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the raid was conducted at the residence of Irfan Ahmad Antoo, a resident of Kralteng Sopore, on the order of New Delhi-imposed Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. Police claimed that Irfan was affiliated with the banned pro-freedom group, the Muslim League, and said that the operation was in connection with a case registered under the draconian Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). Irfan has been held in illegal detention for the last four years.
During the search, police seized house documents, bank records, mobile phones, and other electronic devices. Family members were also harassed during the operation.
This raid follows a similar search carried out yesterday at the residence of another Kashmiri civilian, Abid Nabi, also allegedly linked to the Muslim League.
