300 social media accounts blocked in Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban districts

Jammu: The BJP regime led by non-Kashmiri Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has blocked as many as 300 social media accounts in Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban districts of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the BJP regime blocked the accounts in just three days after they were found circulating content related to protests and anti-BJP posts in the aftermath of the arrest of MLA Meraj Malik in Doda district.

Officials said the IT Cells of the three districts monitored Facebook, X and Instagram platforms round the clock and traced accounts involved in sharing ground situation images and videos.

Police confirmed that First Information Reports (FIRs) have been recommended against several identified handlers operating these accounts. Some accounts were traced locally within occupied Jammu and Kashmir, while Indian agencies have also written to social media companies for permanent blocking of the remaining accounts.

The visuals of protests and interviews of political leaders, including videos and photographs on the arrest of MLA Meraj Malik, were exposing police brutalities, BJP agendas and the myth of so-called peace in the territory.

Deputy Inspector General of Police, Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban Range, Sridhar Patil, stated that the IT Cells of the three districts worked to identify and neutralize accounts, adding that the crackdown would continue against those involved.
