BSF soldier dies of brain tumour, mother ends life in UP’s Ballia
Lucknow: In Ballia, a district of Uttar Pradesh, a 65-year-old woman, Basanti Devi, ended her life after getting the news of the death of her son, Manoj Pandey, a BSF soldier.
Manoj Pandey was battling brain tumour for years. He was admitted to a Chandigarh hospital, where he succumbed to illness on Thursday. On Friday morning, neighbours found Basanti Devi hanging in the courtyard of the house.
Manoj Pandey, who joined the BSF in 2008, was posted in Meghalaya before his illness. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.
Family members said both mother and son will be cremated together.
