Muslim properties razed in Rajasthan’s Chomu Town

New Delhi: In a shocking display of discrimination, authorities in Rajasthan’s Chomu town have demolished Muslim properties following a dispute near a mosque, leaving residents shocked and angry.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the action, carried out by the local administration and Municipal Council, has raised concerns about collective punishment and unequal application of the law against minorities.

Residents claim that the demolitions were carried out without fair hearing, targeting their livelihoods and homes. ‘Everything happened very fast. Notices were given and then bulldozers arrived,’ said Abdul Rahman, a shopkeeper whose structure was damaged.

Muslim residents question the timing and motive behind the demolitions.

‘This looks like collective punishment,’ said local resident Mohammad Salim. ‘If there was stone-pelting, deal with the accused. Why destroy homes and shops?’

The incident highlights the growing trend of targeting Muslim communities in India, where accusations of ‘encroachment’ are used to justify brutal actions against minorities.

As families gather near the rubble, uncertain about their future, it’s clear that justice has been served unevenly in Chomu town.
