Administration imposes restrictions on outdoor activities in Poonch
Jammu: After suspending trekking and camping activities in parts of Islamabad and Baramulla districts of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the administration has imposed restrictions on outdoor activities in the high altitude areas along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district.
According to Kashmir Media Service, multiple drone sightings have been reported by the Indian forces this week in Poonch and Rajouri districts of Pir Panjal region.
In an order on January 12, Poonch deputy commissioner Ashok Kumar Sharma, citing “security issues”, imposed prohibitions on “unrestricted movement” of private individuals in “high altitude and forested areas” of the border district.
“Trekking, camping, hiking and similar outdoor pursuits in high altitude areas are likely to adversely affect public safety and may also lead to law and order complications,” the order, issued by Ashok Kumar Sharma, said.
