Mirwaiz reviews arrangements for Juma-tul-Vida, Shab-e-Qadr, Eid in Srinagar

IIOJK authorities urged to allow peaceful religious gatherings after 7 years

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, a meeting of the Anjuman Auqaf Jamia Masjid, chaired by senior APHC leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, was held in Srinagar to review and finalize arrangements for the forthcoming religious occasions of Juma-tul-Vida (the last Friday of Ramzan), Shab-e-Qadr and Eid-ul-Fitr.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the meeting was attended by members of the Auqaf, office bearers, staff and volunteers.

It was noted that Juma-tul-Vida will be observed on March 13, as there is a possibility that the following Friday may coincide with Eid-ul-Fitr. Detailed arrangements for these spiritually significant occasions were reviewed.

The meeting urged occupation authorities to allow congregational prayers and other religious gatherings on these occasions at the historic Jamia Masjid Srinagar. It is worth mentioning that for the last seven years, Kashmiri Muslims were prevented from observing these occasions at the grand mosque.

The Mirwaiz said that these sacred occasions hold immense spiritual significance for the faithful and attract a large number of worshippers to the mosque. The meeting also noted that on the occasion of Juma-tul-Vida, the sermon will be delivered by the Mirwaiz at 12:45 pm at Jamia Masjid Srinagar, while the congregational Friday prayers will be offered at 2:20 pm.

He expressed hope that all sections of society will extend their cooperation, adding that with collective effort, these important religious gatherings can be observed peacefully, with dignity and in a spiritually uplifting atmosphere.
