NC MLAs in IIOJK demand release of youth arrested for expressing solidarity with Iran
Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the National Conference has demanded the release of all Kashmiri youth arrested for protesting against Israeli and American aggression on Iran.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the administration, under the Lieutenant Governor imposed by New Delhi in the occupied territory, has arrested a large number of youth for holding anti-US-Israel demonstrations.
National Conference MLAs Tanveer Sadiq, Shamima Firdous, Riaz Baidar, Hilal Akbar Lone and Ali Muhammad Dar in a joint statement said that protests were also held in Indian cities against the aggression on Iran, but no one was arrested anywhere. However, people were arrested for expressing grief and sorrow in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, which is unfair. They said that many of those arrested are very young.
The MLAs also met the Lieutenant Governor and urged him to direct the immediate release of all the detained youth and stop further punitive action.
The National Conference MLAs said that the arrested youth should be released before Eid-ul-Fitr so that they could celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr with their parents and siblings.
