Mirwaiz welcomes Iran-US ceasefire, APHC lauds Pakistan’s role

Srinagar: Senior All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has welcomed the ceasefire announcement between Iran and the United States, terming it a positive step toward peace and stability in the region, while the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has appreciated Pakistan’s role in facilitating efforts to avert a major humanitarian crisis.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement issued in Srinagar said the ceasefire underscores that restraint and dialogue must take precedence over confrontation in resolving conflicts, emphasizing that peace should prevail over war. He commended the resilience and courage demonstrated by the Iranian people and leadership in the face of what he described as extreme aggression, and congratulated all stakeholders, including Islamabad, for helping bring about this crucial development.
He expressed hope that the ceasefire would pave the way for lasting stability and encourage meaningful dialogue to resolve disputes peacefully.
Meanwhile, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference also welcomed the Iran-US ceasefire and thanked the Pakistan government, its leadership and institutions for their constructive efforts to prevent a potentially disastrous situation. The spokesman expressed optimism that upcoming engagements between Iran and the United States in Islamabad would prove constructive and lead to de-escalation, ultimately ending tensions and destruction caused by conflict.
