Indian soldier injured in landmine blast near LoC in Poonch

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, an Indian army soldier was injured in a landmine explosion near the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the explosion took place in the Balakot area of Mendhar during an area domination patrol by Indian army personnel. An Agniveer soldier sustained injuries in the blast and was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital, where his condition is reported to be stable.

The incident highlights the continued risks posed by landmines laid by Indian forces for the people living in forward areas. Officials said such explosives are often displaced due to rains, increasing the likelihood of accidental detonations.

Meanwhile, in a separate operation, a rusted mortar shell was spotted in Sagra village of the Balnoi sector. Army experts later carried out a controlled explosion to safely destroy the shell.
