BJP regime declares Darul Uloom unlawful under black law in Shopian

Srinagar: The Bharatiya Janata Party regime in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir has declared a religious educational institution, Darul Uloom Jamia Siraj-ul-Uloom, an unlawful entity under the draconian Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) in Shopian district.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the administration led by New Delhi-appointed Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha declared the institution unlawful at Imam Sahib in Shopian, alleging its links with Jamaat-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir. The declaration was made through an order issued by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg, under the UAPA, officials said.

According to the order, the action follows a dossier submitted by the Senior Superintendent of Police, Shopian, which claims that the institution is affiliated with Jamaat-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir, an organization banned by the Indian government in 2019. The order further alleges continued control of the seminary by individuals associated with the organization, including their presence in administrative and academic roles.
