ltija Mufti leads PDP protest in Srinagar to restore Urdu as official language
Srinagar: People’s Democratic Party leader Iltija Mufti, along with party workers, staged a protest in Srinagar over the Urdu language issue.
According to Kashmir Media Service, protesters said Kashmiris should struggle for the restoration of Urdu as the state language, stating that Hindi is being forced upon them.
Iltija Mufti, who heads the PDP’s youth wing, said the protest aimed to highlight concerns over the sidelining of Urdu, historically the official language of Jammu & Kashmir.
“Kashmiris must fight to restore Urdu while Hindi is being imposed on us,” demonstrators said during the protest.
