Military siege enters 10th day in Rajouri, residents face continued harassment

Jammu: Indian forces personnel have continued their massive cordon and search operations in Rajouri and several other areas of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, subjecting local residents to prolonged restrictions and repeated searches.

According to Kashmir Media Service, personnel of the Indian Army, paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Special Operations Group (SOG) and so-called Village Defence Guards continued the operation, codenamed Operation Sherawali, in the Gambhir Mughlan and Dorimal-Manjakote areas of Rajouri district for the tenth consecutive day.

Indian forces have deployed extensive military resources, including war helicopters, drones, sniffer dogs and para commandos, in the rugged terrain. All entry and exit routes to the area remain sealed, while residents continue to face repeated door-to-door searches, causing fear and disruption to normal life.

The prolonged operation has effectively placed the area under a military siege, with heavy troop presence and strict movement restrictions adding to the difficulties faced by the local population.

Meanwhile, similar cordon and search operations are also continuing in different areas of Poonch, Kishtwar and Baramulla districts, reflecting the ongoing crackdown across the occupied territory.
