IIOJK: Mehbooba demands release of arrested party leader Talib Chaudhry

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Peoples Democratic Party President Mehbooba Mufti has demanded the release of party leader and tribal rights activist Talib Chaudhry

According to Kashmir Media Service, Mehbooba Mufti wrote on social networking site ‘X’ that the arrest of Talib Chaudhry has sent a very negative message to the Gujjar-Bakerwal community.

She said, “It is unfortunate that PDP leader and leading social activist Talib Chaudhry has been sent to jail because he was struggling for the rights of the poor and backward tribal community.

Mehbooba Mufti said that he was arrested for leading a peaceful march against the unjustified demolition campaign in the Sidhra area. She said the treatment of Talib Chaudhry like a criminal is very regrettable and demanded his immediate release.

The Indian police arrested Talib Chaudhry on June 1.
