Farm leader Charuni issues stern warning to Modi regime after Wangchuk’s health worsens

New Delhi : Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU-Charuni) president Gurnam Singh Charuni has warned the Indian government that farmers will intensify their movement if it fails to respond to the students’ march on July 20.

According to media reports, Charuni led a delegation of farmers to the protest site at Jantar Mantar where activist Sonam Wangchuk’s health has deteriorated during his hunger strike.

Doctors said Wangchuk has lost 8.25 kg and is suffering from low blood sugar, dizziness and severe weakness.

Charuni said peaceful Gandhian movements must be respected and announced that farmers will march to Parliament from Kisan Ghat on July 21 in support of the students’ demands and farmers’ issues. He said the government will be responsible if the situation escalates.
