Delhi court grants bail to Kashmiri activist Khurram Parvez, journalist Irfan Meraj

New Delhi : A Delhi court has granted bail to Kashmiri human rights activist Khurram Parvez and journalist Irfan Meraj in a fake case registered against them by Indian agencies.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the Delhi court passed the bail order on Saturday of human rights activist Khurram Parvez and journalist Irfan Mehraj, who were arrested by Indian agencies in a fake case registered against them.
Khurram Parvez, Programme Coordinator of the Jammu Kashmir Coalition of Civil Society (JKCCS) and Chairperson of the Asian Federation Against Involuntary Disappearances (AFAD), and Irfan Meraj, an independent journalist, had remained in judicial custody in connection with the case.
Irfan Meraj was arrested by India’s dreaded National Investigation Agency (NIA) in Srinagar on March 20, 2023, under the draconian Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) in connection with an NGO funding case.
Their release will be subject to completion of legal formalities and any other applicable judicial proceedings.
