IIOJK’s Power Deptt employees start indefinite strike against employees’ suspension

Jammu,: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Power Employees and Engineers Coordination Committee has began an indefinite strike against the suspension of employees and engineers.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the committee announced the indefinite protest after the management did not agree to revoke the suspension orders or withdraw the decision to withhold salaries linked to the Surya Ghar performance.

According to the committee, the management had issued orders placing several officers and officials under suspension despite records, in its view, showing that action had been taken against defaulters.

The Power Employees and Engineers Coordination Committee had also questioned the basis of the suspensions and maintained that the employees and engineers should not be held responsible without properly examining the records and circumstances surrounding the alleged lapses.

The protest followed the failure of discussions between the employees’ representatives and the Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL) management to reach an agreement on the demands.

The Committee has maintained that the suspended employees should be reinstated and the related salary withholding decision withdrawn.
