Italy: Khalistan freedom rally held in front of Indian Consulate in Milan
Milan: A Khalistan freedom rally was organized by Sikhs for Justice on August 15 outside the Indian Consulate in Milan, in which members of the Italian Sikh community participated and raised slogans in favour of Khalistan.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the protesters said that August 15 is not Independence Day for Sikhs but a reminder of the oppression and repression of Sikhs and other minorities by the Indian state.
The participants raised various slogans, including Khalistan Zindabad, and demanded global attention on Sikh rights, the Khalistan referendum and human rights violations.
The organizers of the rally also said the Indian government is suppressing the Khalistan movement and demanded that the Italian government take notice of the pressure and threats faced by the Sikh community in Italy.
According to the organizers, the main means of their struggle for Khalistan is democratic vote and referendum and announced that the next Khalistan referendum will be held in the American city of Indianapolis.
