Thousands of devotees throng Srinagar’s Hazratbal to offer night-long nawafil
Srinagar : In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, thousands of devotees thronged the Dargah Hazratbal in Srinagar for night-long nawafil on the occasion of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi, the revered birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
According to Kashmir Media Service, devotees gathered at the holy shrine to observe the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), commonly known as Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW). Young and old, men, women and children thronged the shrine for nawafil on the eve of the Milad. Though celebrations are held across Kashmir at mosques and shrines, Dargah Hazratbal remains a major attraction for devotees as it houses the Holy Relic of the Prophet (SAW).Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi falls on 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal of the Islamic calendar, and devotees honor the Prophet’s (PBUH) teachings, sacrifices, and exemplary character.
On the occasion, people prayed for peace, prosperity, and freedom of occupied Jammu and Kashmir from Indian occupation and Hindutva communal designs on the soil.
Authorities in Srinagar have historically restricted or disallowed major religious processions, including certain Eid Milad and Ashura processions through commercial hubs like Abi Guzar in Srinagar city.
While some traditional routes remain under strict regulation or bans imposed in past decades, observances and smaller rallies take place in designated areas and at major shrines like Hazratbal.
