Kenyan President bans Indian Tata Chemicals from operating in country

Nairobi: The Kenyan President has banned the famous Indian company Tata Chemicals from operating in the country.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Kenyan President William Ruto during a visit to the southern Kenyan region said he has ordered India’s Tata Chemicals to stop its activities in Kenya because its presence has failed to benefit the country.

He said the government will bring in two new companies to take over the work of Tata Chemicals. He said Tata Chemicals has failed to invest in local industries and benefit Kenyans from local mineral resources.

William Ruto said the Indian company has been extracting natural resources from Lake Magadi for decades but has not established any factory locally or created significant employment opportunities in the area.

He said that TATA had this contract for 100 years but the company had not provided any significant employment to people at the local level or built any factory.
