Mirwaiz Umar Farooq meets Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in New Delhi
New Delhi: Senior All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader and chief cleric of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, met President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian in New Delhi.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was invited by Iranian Ambassador to India Dr Mohammad Fathali to participate in an interaction with President Pezeshkian, who is in New Delhi to attend the BRICS Summit scheduled for September 12 and 13.
The interaction, hosted by Ambassador Fathali on Friday eveing, brought together religious leaders, intellectuals and other dignitaries and was followed by a dinner reception hosted by the Iranian Embassy.
On the occasion, Mirwaiz visited an exhibition commemorating the innocent children killed in a US missile strike on an elementary school in Minab, Iran, on February 28, this year. The strike killed 168 people, including more than 100 children.
