Daily wagers announce sit-in protests in Jammu, Srinagar on Sept 22

Jammu: The daily wage workers of the Jal Shakti / Public Health Engineering (PHE) department in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir have reiterated their demand for regularization of services and release of pending wages, and announced to hold a massive protest demonstration on September 22.

Pddressing a joint press conference at PHE Complex, B C Road Jammu today, senior members of the PHE Employees United Front, Rajinder Singh Taj, Ravi Hans, Hoshiar Singh, Navdeep Singh and Mohan Lal expressed serious concern over the delaying tactics being adopted by the occupation regime over the issue of regularization. They said the National Conference during elections had promised regularization but there seems to be no seriousness on the part of this government.

The PHE daily wagers strongly criticized the IIOJK administration for increasing salaries and perks of MLAs in the recent past. The workers declared to hold a massive protest demonstration and dharna on September 22, the opening day of the Assembly session at Srinagar. They said a large protest shall also be held at Jammu in this connection and appealed to the PHE workers to participate in this protest programme in large numbers.
