Indian claims of killing Pakistani SSG officer in operation debunked as he appears alongside DG ISPR

Rawalpindi: The Director-General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has exposed another Indian false-flag operation, producing before the media Havildar Muhammad Asif — a retired Pakistani Army soldier whom India had falsely claimed to have killed in a staged encounter in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
According to Kashmir Media Service, Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry addressing a press conference in Rawalpindi said the incident had begun on the night of September 29 when the Indian Corps posted on social media that a joint search operation had been launched in the general area of Korag, Yousmarg in Budgam district of the occupied territory during which one terrorist had been neutralised.
He said nearly seven hours later, the Indian Army issued an update claiming that the body of a Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist, identified as Mohammad Asif alias Hashim Moosa, had been recovered along with war-like stores in the general area of Palmaidan, Budgam district.
He said shortly after, Indian news agency ANI published a detailed account claiming Mohammad Asif was born on March 7, 1980, had joined the Pakistan Army in 2000 under service number PA-3106947, retired with the rank of Havildar, was inducted into the Special Services Group in 2005, served with 4 Commando Yalgar Battalion, was posted to Balochistan from 2006 onward, participated in approximately 10 operations against Baloch insurgents, was credited with 13 kills and had served on the VVIP security team of former President Pervez Musharraf between 2006 and 2009.
“You might be recalling Uri, Pahalgam and Pulwama — a very interesting story is being cooked, and the story is now complete,” the ISPR DG said, adding that there was a lot of evidence available.
The ISPR DG then produced Havildar Muhammad Asif — alive — before the assembled media, comprehensively demolishing India’s fabricated account and exposing another in a series of staged incidents designed to manufacture a Pakistani terrorist narrative in IIOJK.
Chaudhry noted that India had claimed that Muhammad Asif was involved in attacks in different areas. “India had claimed that Asif was a retired Special Services Group (SSG) Havildar,” he added.
‘Very much alive’
Speaking to journalists during the press conference, Havildar Asif said he was surprised to learn through social media that India had claimed he had been killed. “I was surprised that I was at home, so how could the Indian Army have martyred me?” he said.
Asif said he began receiving phone calls after reports of his alleged martyrdom emerged.
He said he retired from the SSG in 2023 and currently works for a security company while living in Rawalpindi. “I am very much alive, I live in Rawalpindi and I am before you,” Asif said.
He said he belonged to Pindi Gheb in Attock district and that friends had called him the previous day to tell him that Indian forces had claimed to have killed him.
Asif condemned what he called India’s baseless and fabricated allegations, saying he had served his country bravely and remained ready to serve it in the future.
Meanwhile, the ISPR DG further said that India sponsors terrorist organisations for carrying out terrorism in Pakistan.
He noted that there were six reasons behind what he described as the Indian “false-flag drama”, adding that India was, in his words, the biggest country spreading terrorism in the world.
He also said that Indian support and funding for the Muttahida Bahini and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) was well known.
