Kashmiris’ honour, lives, property, culture and identity unsafe under Indian occupation: APHC
Spokesman condemns Indian officer’s humiliating treatment of Kashmiri woman officer

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has strongly condemned the humiliating treatment of a Kashmiri woman officer by an Indian official, saying that under Indian occupation, Kashmiris’ honour, lives, property, culture and identity remain at risk.
According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, in a statement issued in Srinagar, expressed full solidarity with Kashmir Administrative Service (KAS) officer Beenish Wani and demanded immediate action against the Indian officer Kumar Rajiv Ranjan.
He said the Indian officer’s objectionable behaviour towards a Kashmiri woman officer was a direct consequence of the revocation of IIOJK’s special status. Minhas said the BJP government had essentially abrogated Articles 370 and 35A to push Kashmiris to the wall, erase their identity and turn them into strangers in their own homeland.
The spokesman said that, following the revocation of the occupied territory’s special status, the Indian government had pursued a systematic policy of depriving Kashmiris of everything. He said Kashmiris were denied all fundamental freedoms, including freedom of expression, and were being dispossessed of their homes, land and other properties under various pretexts. A large number of Kashmiri government employees had also been dismissed and replaced by Indian Hindu employees, he added.
Minhas said the Indian government had changed the domicile laws of the occupied territory and granted domicile status to millions of Indian Hindus in the internationally recognized disputed region. He described the settlement of Indian Hindus in occupied Jammu and Kashmir as part of a sinister Indian conspiracy to alter the demographic balance of the Muslim-majority territory.
He urged Kashmiris to strengthen their unity to thwart India’s sinister designs against Kashmir and its people. Despite all Indian conspiracies and manoeuvres, he said, Kashmiris would continue their struggle until the mission of their martyrs was accomplished.
The APHC spokesman also urged the United Nations to take notice of Indian repression in Kashmir and press New Delhi to work towards a resolution of the Kashmir dispute.
It is pertinent to mention that Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Rajeev Ranjan, who hails from the Indian state of Bihar, behaved offensively towards KAS officer Beenish Wani during an online review meeting and threatened to suspend her without hearing her side. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media, showing the Indian officer angrily intimidating and threatening Wani.
