Kashmiri truck drivers raise alarm over loot attempts in Haryana

Chandigarh: Truck drivers have raised alarm over a series of loot attempts along the highway near Damdal in Haryana state of India, saying that unidentified miscreants have been targeting vehicles during late-night hours.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the incidents have sparked concern among transporters and traders who frequently use the route for the movement of goods.
Several drivers said groups of masked individuals have been intercepting trucks during the night, attempting to snatch cash, valuables, and goods.
One of the affected drivers said the situation has become increasingly dangerous for those earning their livelihood through long-distance transport.
“We are simply trying to feed our families, but such incidents are putting our lives and work at risk. The fear of being attacked at night is constant,” he said.
Transport associations have urged the Haryana administration and police to strengthen security measures along the route.
They have called for increased night patrolling, installation of CCTV surveillance, and joint highway security checks to deter criminal activity.
