Iltija Mufti demands probe into killing of Ramban youth

Srinagar : Peoples Democratic Party leader Iltija Mufti visited the family of 18-year-old Tanveer Chopan in Ramsoo area of Ramban district and urged a comprehensive investigation into his killing, calling for stringent action against those involved.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Tanveer Chopan, a resident belonging to the Phardi community who reared cattle for livelihood, was transporting a cow when he was attacked on the Ramsoo–Makarkot stretch of Jammu-Srinagar highway. He was the sole brother among four sisters.
He was assaulted by a Hindutva gang on suspicion linked to cattle transportation. The incident involved lynching and stone pelting.
The killing triggered protests in the area. The incident adds to a series of such cases in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir involving violence against Muslim civilians over cattle-related allegations. KMS-3K
