Indian police arrest Muslim woman, teenager in Manipur

Imphal : Indian police have arrested a Muslim woman and a teenage girl in violence-hit, BJP-ruled Manipur state.
According to Kashmir Media Service, during a search operation in Shanta Bazar under Andro in Imphal East district, police arrested 46-year-old Ruhida Begum and 18-year-old Rohana Begum.
Police have justified the arrests, alleging their involvement in the transportation and sale of arms and explosives. Manipur has been under military presence and ethnic violence since 2023, during which hundreds have been killed and arrested.
