Indian CRPF officer shoots two colleagues dead, then kills self in Assam
Nagaon (Assam): An Indian paramilitary officer shot dead two of his colleagues and injured another before killing himself in the BJP-ruled state of Assam.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Indian Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) officer ASI/GD Ballani Premabaram opened fire, killing his two colleagues, HV/GD Vishnu Prasad Baghel and SI/GD Ramnawal Singh Yadav, and injuring another colleague, ASI/Mane Govind Sripul, at the 34 Battalion camp in Katimari in Nagaon district of the state.
The officer later committed suicide by shooting himself with an INSAS rifle.
Nagaon Deputy Superintendent of Police (HQ) Paramita Sarkar told the media that ASI/GD Ballani Premabaram, who was on duty at the main gate, fired at his colleagues at the 34 Battalion camp in Katimari. He later shot himself and died on the spot, the DSP said.
“Two personnel, HV/GD Vishnu Prasad Baghel and SI/GD Ramnawal Singh Yadav, died on the spot,” Sarkar said.
Another CRPF personnel, ASI/Mane Govind Sripul, was injured in the incident and taken to a private hospital, she said.
Later, the injured personnel was referred to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, the DSP added.
