APHC expresses concern over plight of detained Hurriyat leaders, activists and youth in jails
Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has expressed deep concern over the plight of detained Hurriyat leaders, activists and youth in jails of India and the occupied territory.
According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesperson Advocate Abdul Rashid in a statement issued in Srinagar demanded of the United Nations and the International Court of Justice to take notice of the illegal detention of Kashmiris and the lack of fair trial for them. He said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Indian government is targeting Kashmiris on a large scale with political vendetta and is trying to silence their legitimate voices through different tactics.
The spokesperson appreciated the determination and faith of Hurriyat Conference Chairman Masarat Alam Butt, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, Aasiya Andrabi, Fehmeeda Sufi, Naheeda Nasreen, Ayaz Muhammad Akbar, Pir Saifullah, Raja Merajuddin Kalwal, Shahid Islam, Farooq Ahmed Dar, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Molvi Bashir Irfani, Bilal Siddiqui, Advocate Mian Abdul Qayyum, Dr Hamid Fayyaz, Advocate Zahid Ali, Zafar Akbar Butt, Muhammad Rafiq Ganai, Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo, Dr Muhammad Shafi Shariati, Saleem Nanaji, Fayyaz Hussain Jafari, Hayat Ahmed Butt, Omar Adil Dar, Muhammad Yasin Butt, Zahoor Ahmed Butt, Farooq Ahmed Towheedee, Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, Noor Muhammad Fayyaz, Asadullah Parrey and other detainees and said that the great sacrifices of Kashmiris will one day bear fruit.
The spokesperson said the BJP-led Indian government has given a free hand to the Indian forces and investigative agencies to intimidate and threaten Kashmiris.
The statement strongly condemned the ongoing human rights violations, cordon and search operations and house raids by the Indian forces in the occupied territory.
The spokesperson paid tributes to the prominent Hurriyat leader and Jammu and Kashmir People’s League Chairman Sheikh Abdul Aziz on his 18th martyrdom anniversary, who was martyred by Indian forces in firing during the Muzaffarabad Chalo March in Uri area of Baramulla district on August 11, 2008.
