Lucknow : In yet another instance of violence against Muslims in Modi’s India, Hindu extremists brutally assaulted and humiliated a Muslim buffalo trader in BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh state.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the incident took place at Jamdura in the Karari police station area of Kaushambi district. The victim, identified as Afshar Ali, was returning home from his in-laws’ house when a group of Hindus stopped him on the way and questioned him about his earnings. The attackers taunted him, saying, “You earn so much; can’t you even buy us some liquor?” When Ali refused to give them money, the situation escalated.

The attackers severely assaulted Afshar Ali, beat him mercilessly and fled after snatching more than Rs 4,500 from his pocket. He lodged a complaint at Karari police station. However, according to Indian media reports, police did not take immediate action on his complaint.

A video of the incident has also gone viral on social media, showing Afshar Ali being assaulted by the Hindu men.

Civil society members and human rights activists have expressed outrage over the incident and called for immediate action against those involved.

Internet users have also demanded strict action against the attackers.

One user wrote on X, “This is how Muslims are treated in Modi’s India. Muslims are no longer safe in this country.”

Another user wrote, “All the evidence is available. Will the police now take strict action against the accused, and will the victim get justice?”
