New Delhi: Media organizations have condemned the murder of Chhattisgarh-based journalist Mukesh Chandrakar, who was found dead in a septic tank in Bijapur on January 3, following his disappearance earlier that week.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir media Service, he Press Club of India (PCI) and Indian Women\u2019s Press Corp expressed outrage, highlighting the growing impunity in attacks against journalists, particularly in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar division, and called for urgent action to protect media personnel.<\/p>\n

Chandrakar, 28, was known for his investigative work on the Naxal conflict and corruption in road construction. His body was discovered at a contractor\u2019s property after being reported missing on January 1.<\/p>\n

Police have taken contractor Suresh Chandrakar and others into custody for questioning. Investigations suggest Mukesh had received threats related to his reporting on corruption in a local road project, which had led to an official probe.<\/p>\n
