According to Kashmir Media Service, the confrontation took place between Quami Insaaf Morcha activists and the police on the Sector 43\/52 road, as protesters marked two years of their ongoing movement. The clash escalated when a group of protesters, armed with swords, confronted the police, who had already detained several leaders in preventive custody.<\/p>\n

Police responded with teargas, water cannons, and lathi-charge to disperse the crowd, leading to injuries for four officers, including an inspector. The injured officers were treated at Government Multi-Speciality Hospital.<\/p>\n

The protest caused significant disruptions, with key roads leading to Chandigarh from Mohali, including Jail Road and Sector 51-52, completely barricaded, resulting in massive traffic jams and delays for commuters.<\/p>\n
