Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, restrictions have been tightened under the pretext of security ahead of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi\u2019s visit to the territory.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, Modi is scheduled to visit Kashmir on Monday to inaugurate the Z-Morh tunnel in Sonamarg area of Ganderbal, triggering a significant ramp-up in occupation forces\u2019 presence.<\/p>\n
The tightened restrictions include heavy deployments of Indian army, paramilitary forces and police across the Kashmir Valley, especially in the Sonamarg area. Additional checkpoints have been established for frisking and monitoring, alongside increased surveillance, area domination exercises, thorough searches, and round-the-clock patrols. The Special Protection Group (SPG) has taken charge of Modi\u2019s innermost security layer.<\/p>\n
\u201cStandard Operating Procedures (SOPs) have been implemented and will remain in effect until January 13. These include the deployment of additional forces, installation of CCTV surveillance, establishment of additional checkpoints and frisking points,\u201d an Indian official said.<\/p>\n
It is important to note that the arrival of high-ranking Indian political and military figures consistently exacerbate the suffering of the local population in IIOJK.
