Jammu: The Community Health Centre (CHC) at Thanamandi in Rajouri district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir is facing a severe shortage of doctors and paramedical staff, highlighting the stark contrast between India’s claims of progress in healthcare and the harsh realities faced by people in the occupied territory.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, residents have expressed deep concerns over the shortage of medical professionals and support staff. They said the health department has failed to provide enough MBBS doctors as per the sanctioned posts, as well as the necessary machinery to ensure the smooth operation of the hospital.<\/p>\n

The residents further lamented that, although the facility was built as a CHC, it has yet to be officially upgraded from a Primary Health Centre (PHC) to a CHC. This administrative delay continues to limit the scale and quality of healthcare services available to the public.<\/p>\n

They also pointed out that medical equipment has been abandoned in many health centres because the health department has not provided the necessary experts, such as radiologists and doctors, to operate the machinery.<\/p>\n

Residents of Rajouri district have expressed frustration as all healthcare facilities in the district suffer from this chronic staff shortage, exposing the hollow promises of India’s healthcare development in IIOJK.
