Guwahati: In continuation of its increasingly harsh policies targeting minorities, India has decided to deport 25,000 Muslim citizens to Bangladesh under the controversial Citizenship Act, further exacerbating the plight of Muslims in the country.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, the Guwahati High Court has cleared the way for the expulsion of over 5,000 Muslim families who have been living in Assam for five decades.<\/p>\n
The Barpeta Foreigners\u2019 Tribunal, set up by the Modi government, has declared over 25,000 Muslims as illegal Bangladeshi immigrants after they allegedly failed to register with the Foreigners Regional Registration Officer (FRRO) due to their impoverished conditions.<\/p>\n
