According to Kashmir Media Service, villagers, including men and the elderly, gathered in large numbers at the Deputy Commissioner\u2019s office, holding electricity bills in their hands as a symbol of their frustration. They expressed their anguish over the severe power cuts that have disrupted their lives, with students struggling to prepare for exams, patients requiring oxygen suffering due to the outages, and businesses incurring heavy losses.<\/p>\n

Protesters said their repeated appeals to the authorities for an uninterrupted power supply had fallen on deaf ears. “We have been left to suffer in freezing temperatures without basic amenities like electricity. This is nothing short of sheer negligence by the administration,\u201d a protester said.<\/p>\n

The residents said the Indian-installed administration is pursuing policies that disregard the basic needs of the people of the territory, calling it part of a broader agenda to suppress the local population.
