Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Chaudhary and National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah underscored the urgent need for restoring statehood to address the aspirations and grievances of Kashmiri people.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, speaking in Srinagar, Chaudhary emphasized that the restoration of statehood and special status is a constitutional right of occupied Jammu and Kashmir\u2019s residents and key to the peace and development in the region. He noted that the downgrading to a Union territory caused deep pain and shattered the self-esteem of the Kashmiri people.<\/p>\n

Farooq Abdullah also called for respecting the aspirations of the people and restoring their constitutional rights. \u201cWe hope the aspirations of Jammu and Kashmir\u2019s people will be respected,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
