According to Kashmir Media Service, on 27th January in 1994, a day after India\u2019s Republic Day, Indian troops had massacred 27 civilians in Kupwara town. The mass killing was carried out by the troops to punish people for observing a shutdown on January 26.<\/p>\n
Ghulam Muhammad Safi and other Hurriyat leaders in a joint statement issued in Islamabad said the sacrifices of the martyrs of Kupwara and all the martyrs of Kashmir will not be allowed to go waste under any circumstances.<\/p>\n
They said the Kupwara massacre is the worst example of Indian state terrorism in occupied Kashmir. They said that due to the sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs, the Kashmir dispute has become the center of attention at the international level.<\/p>\n
The Hurriyat leaders said they will never allow anyone to betray the sacrifices of these martyrs and will continue the freedom struggle in every possible way to complete the mission of the Kashmiri martyrs.<\/p>\n
They lamented that the Indian soldiers, involved in the Kupwara, Handwara massacres and other tragic incidents of killing of innocent people in the occupied territory, have not been punished till date.<\/p>\n
The Hurriyat leaders have appealed to the international community to hold India accountable for the grave crimes against humanity in occupied Kashmir and put pressure on it to resolve the lingering Kashmir dispute according to the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
